Along with the step by step are many color illustrations simplifying the building process.
Add a the split hinges to aid in bedding installation*. It is much easier to install the lid bedding while the lid is removed from the casket. As well, it is much easier to secure the hinges and line the lids up while the casket is unbedded. Split hinges are the best way to go.
Intended for a intermediately skilled woodworker. Upon completion you will be proud to have completed a standard sized casket. Sewing may not be your forte, add a pre sewn casket bedding to your order*. Choose from a simple cotton bedding to an elegant crepe or satin. A good rule of thumb to follow when choosing a bedding is to simply match cotton with an unfinished pine while crepe or satin lend themselves best to a polished wood finish.
Individual wood handles will add the finishing touch to this casket*.
To make things more convenient consider our hardware and bedding packs under the beddings tab*. These packs include all you need to complete the casket except for the wood and wood finish.

We built our first casket for my grandmother. The needed closure that we felt by being able to take part in the funeral process as well as the money that we saved by building the casket ourselves made the entire ordeal much easier to handle. We want to be able to offer this peaceful feeling to others.
